Below you can see details of some of the events we run at Church of the Saviour
Not all events happen every week. To see what is happening this week please view our calendar.
Worship | Sunday 10:30 – 11:45
We believe all people are made to worship God and we try to do that in ways that are welcoming, inclusive, relevant and respectful to God. There is a pattern of different services throughout the month but the style is always modern and informal. YouTube clips, Holy Scripture, contemporary music, songs and hymns, 20th century liturgy and prayers written more than 1,000 years ago all shape our worship. When services are not all age we offer separate activities for children and young people.
Worship | Saturday 18:30 – 21:30
New Life Church is Russian speaking fellowship that worships on Saturday evenings. For more information contact Sergei on 07474 938 538
Morning Prayer | Tuesday – Friday 07:45 – 08:15
One of the ministry team leads those that gather through the Anglican service of Morning Prayer and the bible readings of the day. A short service but a great way to start the day.
Slimming World | Tuesday 16:30-18:00 18:30-20:00
This is not a church initiative but we are very pleased to host it. It’s a fun, friendly and supportive group committed to losing weight and feeling good! All welcome; for more details call Judith on 07900 181 216
Is a community of prayer and mission that invites commitment to a spiritual practice based on 5 Rhythms of Grace. Many of our congregations use the resources it offers and welcome others to join them. To find out more come and join us or visit www.peregrini.co.uk
Fellowship | Sunday 11.45 – 12:45
God calls us to be his sons and daughters; Jesus says we are his brothers and sisters; it’s all about being and growing as God’s family so after worship we spend time together in the community lounge to share company and conversation over drinks and nibbles. This time together is so important to us that every month or so we hang around a bit longer to share a bit of lunch and family games.
Connections | Tuesday 10:00 – 14:00
On term time Tuesdays we open the church as a community drop-in centre. Everything is free including the “LiteBite” lunch served from 12:30 to 13:30. There are people to meet, tea and coffee to drink and lots of things to do including reading the Tuesday papers, using our laptops and free Wi-Fi, watching a monthly movie, art and craft sessions, all sorts of games from table top to TV. Why not drop in and give it a try!
Opportunities for small groups of people to meet together in each other’s homes to think about and discuss Christian life and belief. We try to run them about 3 times a year for about 6 weeks each and for as many groups as we need. Watch out for details or get in touch and we’ll let you know when we organise the next one.
Start of the Week | Monday 10:00 - 11:00
An opportunity to meet together at the start of the week to share news, have a think about a bible passage and then spend time praying for each other and God’s blessing on this community.
Tub to Table | Tuesday 10:00 - 12:00
A food growing project that’s always looking for interested people to help tend our garden plots. There are big dreams for this projecting but we are letting them grow slowly!
Be Still and Know | Wednesday 19:00 – 20:00
This is a very simple service creating an opportunity to be quiet and listen for the voice of God, a kind of heart to heart time. All ages are welcome but it young children may find the quiet and stillness difficult to handle.
Worship | Sunday 13:00 – 17:00
